Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Northern Virginia Area. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Security & Systems Engineering team on the i2s contract. The candidate will be responsible for Windows servers and the operating systems software and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software of the major computing systems across the organization. Roles and Responsibilities: * Responsible for installation and maintenance of the Windows-based CWE operating configurations on all organization Windows servers and desktops and also serve as technical referent on engineering review boards considering all additions to or changes to the operating environment. * Install and maintain the Windows-based CWE operating configurations on all organization NT servers and desktops. * Troubleshoot problems that may involve applications and the network * Provide technical support to applications and utility developers on requirements for integration into the operating environment. * Provide guidance and technical assistance as needed * Maintain and update documentation on the operating systems configuration * Manage software life cycles. Serve as technical referent on engineering review boards considering all additions to or changes to the operating environment * Participate in review boards for all changes or additions to the standard CWE configuration within the organization. * Participate in various design reviews. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Perform Windows System Administration on Windows 2003 servers * Manage Users and Groups * Configure Windows auditing capability * Perform backup and recovery using ArcServe * Monitor system capacity and bottlenecks * Install software on servers * Configure and install Windows workstations * Manage system configuration including network configuration * Perform troubleshooting * Manage a Tomcat web server * Education: 16 years with Bachelors; 4 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. * Position requires a current TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval. Security Clearance Required.
