The Director, Government Services has primary responsibility for the development and identification of new business for its emerging Government Services practice and the management of client engagements and Consultants. The Director also participates in the recruiting of Consultants. This position will be located in Washington/McLean.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continually develop new business in Government Services by identifying target clients, networking, meeting with target clients, and selling all Resources service lines.

Cultivate and expand existing business relationships through frequent communication and regular client visits.

Sell projects to new and existing clients, clarifying the scope of projects with clients, identifying business solutions.

Respond to Requests for Proposals, identifying appropriate Consultant teams and estimating engagement pricing.

Represent Resources in appropriate professional and community organizations.

Develop relationships with potential teaming partners.

Identify future project needs of client and minimizes engagement disruption through managing engagement and ensuring clients expectations are met.

Minimize Consultants "unassigned time" by managing Consultant roll off dates and communicating regularly with Consultants regarding additional client needs and/or other appropriate engagement in the pipelines.

Assist in the recruitment of Consultants, conduct interviews and assess skill set and competencies of candidates, negotiate Consultants compensation.

Ensure approved business contracts are executed by taking responsibilities for the completion of all engagement paperwork.

Support team goals of the office by participating in strategy meetings, including discussing candidate and Consultant pipeline, marketing strategies, and current challenges.

Provide for timely collection of receivables by monitoring payment of client invoices.

Maintain strong communications with Consultants assigned to client engagements.


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must have the following areas of expertise:
Ten to Fifteen (10-15) years of experience in project management, finance, and/or consulting at the management level.

Proven business development experience selling professional services to government agencies; Big Four or other professional services experience preferred.

Experience identifying opportunities with clients, networking and generating leads.

History of proven success in writing proposals and client presentations.

A professional network within with Government Services industry.

Minimum 4 year Bachelor degree required.

Demonstrated track record of success in all positions held.

A high level of enthusiasm for building a business and a personal sense of urgency and capacity to overcome obstacles.

Ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients needs and issues.

Ability to negotiate and communicate complex concepts/business issues verbally and in writing to clients, Consultants and management.

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects and proven ability to develop business relationships.

Ability to develop strategic plans and execute on those plans.

REPORTING:

The Director, Government Services reports to the local Office Managing Director.
